About Me

When I write, I feel free. I am able to convey my feelings and thoughts with precise accuracy in the written word. I’ve always had a passion and talent for creative writing. In school, both high school and college, writing papers was my favorite part of each class; it comes to me with great ease and I love to put my creative mind to use. My grandmother raised me, and Nana always wanted me to pursue a career in writing. It is easier now than it was in the late 90’s to achieve this goal with the opportunities on social media platforms and other internet outlets. I am thankful for the multiple sources to not only share my writing, but to learn from others and the writings they share. One can learn a lot from someone’s writings, and I enjoy reading a wide variety of material.

I am a sports and news junkie! I read news from multiple sources across the globe, and enjoy in engaging in conversation about any variety of topics covered in the media. I love basketball and football, especially at the college level. I am a long time UNC Tarheel basketball fan; I have loved the sport ever since I was a little girl! I am conference conflicted as I am a South Carolina Gamecocks fan for college football, haha! From August until April I am in sports paradise with college sports. I follow the NBA and NFL and enjoy watching them as well, but I feel at the college level the players play more from their hearts, and not because of fame or wealth. I am knowledgeable in other sports, such as hockey and baseball, but I prefer to watch these sports live, so I don’t follow them as closely as I do basketball and football.

I am also passionate about Human Rights, and Human Rights issues. I feel very strongly in equality for all, and believe in standing for what I believe in. I also am a strong advocate for Mental Health awareness, and feel that much more needs to be done to address mental health issues.

I have supported myself, and my two grown sons as a server at the same restaurant for 23 years, half of my life. I am great at my job, have moved up in ranks, and I have built strong foundations during my time there. However, now I have the desire to pursue my dreams, put my college work to use, and do something that I love and am passionate about. The door has opened for my writing career to begin, and I am gladly stepping foot through it.
